Butchertown is a historic neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky that has a rich history, vibrant culture, and excellent dining and shopping options. It was once home to many butchers and other industries such as distilleries, breweries, and machine shops.

 

Today, it is a lively community with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial properties and features a number of historic buildings, including the Butchertown Market, a 19th-century market house that now serves as a community center and event venue. Butchertown is known for its dining scene, with a variety of excellent restaurants and bars housed in refurbished warehouses and industrial buildings.
